These steps are necessary in order to run the REFLEX simulator:
1. Setting up your radio
If possible you should define a new model for REFLEX usage in your transmitter. Make sure the radio is set to PPM mode. Please use a standard swash-plate type or disable any swash-plate mixing such as 3x90°, 3x120° or others. Disable all pitch, expo and tail rotor mixing as this is done in the REFLEX software for your convenience.
If you have free channels and switches in your radio you may want to assign these switches to channels so that they can be used for autorotation, landing gear other specific functions.
2. Connect your radio
You can connect your remote control to the computer via the REFLEX XTRČ USB interface or via any standard game controller compatible simulator interface.
Connect remote control and interface via a suitable connection cable. Your remote control must be equipped with a suitable DSC or trainer plug. Only use the recommended cable for your specific transmitter. You can get both in the RC retail trade (trainersockets for various radios).
If you are using a wireless simulator interface, bind transmitter and interface according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Connect your simulator interface
Connect your simulator interface to the computer and select it in the Select interface dialog (Radio menu).
Please also refer to Select interface.
4. Calibrate center
You do this once only during initial setup or if you switch to another radio. The center positions of all signals are measured and stored.
Please follow the instructions on the screen and confirm with OK. Please also refer to Calibrate center.
5. Assign channels
The channel assignment is needed in order to let REFLEX know which channel is responsible for which control function. Just follow the bubble help instructions. As the functions Autorotation, Gyro sensibility, Flaps and Landing Gear are for advanced users, you may skip them with the <Tab> key and assign them later.
- Bring all sticks, switches and sliders in center position.
- Click on the function button you want to assign, e.g. Aileron. Follow the bubble help instructions.
- Bring the stick which is intended to control aileron to the maximum right position and hold it there.
- After a short time the detected aileron channel button (1-12) will become pressed.
- Let the stick back to the center position and repeat the steps 1 to 4 for the remaining functions.
Please also refer to Adjust channel assignment.
6. Select model
Press <F2>:

Select your desired model and click OK.
7. Activate REFLEX
If you do not have the REFLEX XTRČ USB interface, the software must be activated. For that, you need an activation code, which must be entered in the Try/Buy/Activate REFLEX XTRČ dialog (File menu). If you do not have an activation code, you can purchase one online. Alternatively, you can evaluate REFLEX for 14 days free of charge.
8. Start the Simulation
Press <F4> to start your first flight and <Esc> to stop the simulation. Alternatively, you can also start the simulation by remote control via a short gas or pitch pulse.
